Public events and tickets.

Our Paint & Sip nights, Paint & Wine nights and other ticketed sessions, whether you booked on our website or through a ticket partner.

1. A ticket is for one seat at one named session. Everything you need to paint is included: canvas, paints, brushes, apron and an artist on hand. Drinks are included only where the event listing says so.
2. Tickets are non-refundable. If you can't make it, you can move your ticket to another public session in the same city, as long as you let us know at least 48 hours before the start time and there's a seat available.
3. With less than 48 hours' notice, or if you don't turn up, the ticket is used and can't be moved or refunded. You're welcome to give your ticket to someone else: just tell us their name.
4. Our sessions need a minimum number of painters to run. If a session doesn't reach it, we may cancel it. If we cancel, you'll get a full refund or a free move to another session, your choice.
5. Outdoor and rooftop sessions depend on the weather. If we have to move or cancel one, the same applies: full refund or a free move.
6. Please arrive on time. Sessions start promptly and we can't extend the end time for late arrivals.
7. You must be 18 or over to attend a session where alcohol is served. Please drink responsibly. We reserve the right to refuse drinks or entry to anyone we think has had enough.
8. Where you booked through a ticket partner (for example Eventbrite, Luma, Meetup, GetYourGuide or Hands On), their booking fees and platform terms also apply.

Private bookings.

Hen parties, birthdays, corporate and team events, and anything else we host just for your group.

1. Your date is held once we receive a 50% deposit. Until then it's not confirmed and we may offer it to someone else, though we'll always tell you first.
2. Deposits are non-refundable. If you need to cancel or move your event, the deposit can be transferred to another date that suits both of us, or kept as credit towards a future booking.
3. The remaining balance is due one week before the event, adjusted to your confirmed final numbers. Please send us your final numbers and your painting theme by then.
4. Private bookings have a minimum number of guests, stated on your quote. If your group drops below it, the price per guest changes as set out on your quote, because venue and host costs don't change with the headcount.
5. Once the balance is paid, numbers can't be reduced. Extra guests can usually be added up to 48 hours before, subject to space.
6. If we have to cancel a private event for reasons within our control, you'll receive a full refund of everything you've paid us.

Venues, food and drink.

This applies to private bookings in Portugal and the UK, whether we find the venue or you do.

1. Venue hire is separate from our painting packages. Where a venue charges a hire fee, it's shown as its own line on your quote and is passed on at cost. Once we've paid it to the venue, it's non-refundable.
2. We'll suggest venues that suit your group size and the kind of night you want, and the final choice is yours. Every venue has a legal capacity, so the number of guests we can seat there is set by the venue, not by us.
3. Each venue has its own terms for food and drink, including whether you can bring your own, what drinks packages they offer and any minimum spend. Those terms apply alongside ours. If you'd like a specific drinks package, want to bring your own food or drink, or have dietary needs, get in touch before you confirm and we'll check what the venue can do.
4. When we come to you, at your office, home, holiday rental or a venue you've arranged, there's no travel charge within our usual area. You're responsible for making sure the space is suitable (tables, seating, reasonable light) and that whoever owns it is happy for you to hold a painting event there. Any paint spills, marks or damage to that space are between you and the owner, not Easel Escape. We bring floor and table coverings and we're careful, but paint is paint.
5. You and your guests are expected to treat the venue, its staff and its other customers with respect. Venues can ask anyone to leave for unacceptable behaviour, and so can we, with no refund.
6. Please drink responsibly. If anyone in your group appears intoxicated, both the venue and we have the right to stop serving them alcohol, and if necessary to ask them to leave, with no refund. This is for everyone's safety, including theirs.
7. You, as the person who made the booking, are solely responsible for any damage, breakage or extra cleaning caused by your group at the venue or to our equipment, beyond normal wear and tear. The venue or we may invoice you for the reasonable cost of repair, replacement or cleaning.

Gift cards.

1. Gift cards come in euros for Lisbon and pounds for Belfast and York, and each works in the currency it was bought in.
2. Gift cards are valid for 12 months from purchase, with the date shown on the card. If one's about to run out, get in touch before it does and we'll see what we can do.
3. Use it towards any public session or a private booking by quoting the code when you book. If the booking costs more, you just pay the difference. If it costs less, the rest stays on the card for next time.
4. Gift cards can't be swapped for cash or refunded, but they can happily be passed on to someone else.
5. Gift cards are delivered by email, so it's worth double-checking the address. If one goes astray, tell us and we'll do our best to track it down and re-send it.
6. Lost the email? No problem. We can re-send it to the original address any time.
7. Public sessions can sell out, so a gift card holds its value but not a seat. Book early for popular dates.

Paint passes.

1. Paint passes are sold in euros and are for our public sessions in Lisbon.
2. A pass is valid for 6 months from purchase. Any sessions still on it after that can't be carried over or refunded, so do come and use them.
3. Each session on the pass is one seat at one public session. Use them yourself or bring friends along: just quote the pass code when booking.
4. Passes are for standard public sessions. They don't cover private bookings, specially priced events or other discounts.
5. Popular dates can sell out, so a pass holds your sessions but not a seat. Book early. If we ever have to cancel a session, it simply goes back on your pass.

The general bits.

1. Gift cards, passes and bookings are issued by Easel Escape, not by any venue.
2. We take photos and short videos at our sessions for our website and social media. If you'd rather not be in them, just tell your host on the night and we'll make sure you're not.
3. Paint is messy by nature. We provide aprons, but please don't wear anything you'd be upset about getting paint on. We can't accept responsibility for paint on clothing or belongings.
4. You keep your painting. We keep nothing except the memories and, if you're happy for us to, a photo of it.
5. We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time you book is the one that applies.
6. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
